Students from the Graphic Art History classes studied different design manifesto’s from various design movements throughout the last century; Futurism, to De Stijl, to First Things First! A manifesto is a public declaration of principles and intentions, but have often been used by groups of designers historically to solidify their goals for design. What better way to merge the study of historical movements with your own contemporary perspective then to create this declaration of beliefs?
There are three categories staff and faculty were asked to judge the design teams on; creativity, aesthetic (look and feel), and dogma (expression of beliefs). The forth category is the number of signatures each design manifesto gained from the population in the hallways.

One of the things that makes Ai such a unique experience is the staff. We like to have fun and there was no shortage of fun when a hot day forced us to play with water balloons.....
Each summer we invite a group of students from local high schools to participate in our Summer Studio program. Here they get the true Ai experience of working on a project for local non profits and finding out what it means to be an Ai student. This year the students worked with our staff to create a mural and brochure for the Girls and Boys Club in San Bernardino.
